ORLANDO, Fla. (July 29, 2026). Dean Abrams, independent candidate for Governor, is attending the Lake Nona Regional Chamber of Commerce's first Political Hob Nob, bringing together CEOs, founders, healthcare leaders, educators, and candidates from across Orange and Osceola counties.
Lake Nona is home to a medical school, hospitals, a research cluster, and corporate training campuses, much of it built within the last 20 years. Abrams will be discussing the inputs that will decide the region's next 20: commercial insurance renewals, electric capacity, water allocation, and whether the nurse, lab tech, and junior engineer can afford to live near where they work.
"Lake Nona shows what Florida can build when it plans ahead," said Abrams. "Those decisions about power, water, and insurance are made in rate hearings and permit filings that most businesses never see. I want to open those rooms up."
The Political Hob Nob is a nonpartisan civic event open to candidates of every party. Participation does not imply any endorsement by the chamber.
