SARASOTA, Fla. (July 18, 2026). Dean Abrams today released his full policy platform for Governor of Florida. Every proposal is labeled by the authority it requires: executive action on day one, agency rule, Cabinet vote, legislation, or constitutional amendment.
Highlights:
- Affordability: End property taxes on homesteaded homes valued within 200% of the county median. Bar institutional investors from buying single-family homes. Renter protections, condo and HOA reform.
- Insurance: Cap insurer profit margins with actuarial safeguards for solvency, and require plain-language publication of loss ratios, executive pay, and reinsurance costs.
- AI data centers: No new AI data centers in Florida. Existing facilities pay the full cost of the water, power, and noise they generate. Florida's aquifers reserved for Floridians first.
- Surveillance: End warrantless mass tracking through license plate reader networks and enforce Florida's constitutional right to privacy.
- Healthcare: Pursue Medicaid coverage for the roughly 800,000 Floridians in the coverage gap, prescription drug importation, and state bulk purchasing.
- Also: zero veteran homelessness, nursing home accountability, criminal justice reform, transparency on every education dollar, and no foreign lobbying influence over Florida policy.
"Voters deserve to know not just what a candidate wants, but whether the governor can actually do it," said Abrams. "Every item in this platform says who has the power to make it happen. Where that is the Legislature, I say so."
