TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (June 11, 2026). Dean Abrams has officially qualified as a No Party Affiliation candidate for Governor of Florida. His name will appear on the November 3 general election ballot.
Abrams hand-delivered his qualifying papers to the Division of Elections in Tallahassee during the statewide qualifying week and paid the $5,656 qualifying fee from campaign funds he provided himself.
As an NPA candidate, Abrams does not appear on the August 18 party primary ballots. He goes directly to the general election, where every registered voter, regardless of party, can vote for him.
"Over three million Floridians are registered with no party. Many more are registered with one and tired of it," said Abrams. "In November, all of them will have a candidate on the ballot who is not taking orders from Tallahassee's party machines or their donors."
Florida elects its governor by plurality. The candidate with the most votes wins, with no runoff.
